Most of the animals that come to us do not have a clear next step. They are often coming from abandonment, neglect, or situations where they have not been properly cared for. Some arrive in critical condition and require immediate care to stabilize.
Upon intake, each animal is assessed and vetted based on its condition. This may involve addressing basic medical needs or working through more serious issues that have gone untreated, including infections, injuries, or surgeries when necessary. Each case is handled individually, based on what is required.
Once stabilized, animals are placed into foster homes where they can continue recovering in a real environment. This stage is not only for recovery, but also to prepare them for the next step. It allows time to properly understand their behavior, temperament, and overall needs, while helping them adjust to a home setting.
From there, placement decisions are made with intention, focusing on long-term fit and ultimately transitioning them into a permanent, stable home through adoption
